Ok, we are just wrapping up our 21 Day Fix Test Group so I wanted to give you a short 21 Day Fix Review. All I can say is "Wow!" First of all, the fact that it's only 21 Days makes it soo much easier on people and gives them that extra confidence boost that they can say, "Hey, I've COMPLETED a program!" And what do you do after completing a program? You celebrate and keep going!
After talking with our test group participants, they did feel that the nutrition guide was a little overwhelming at first. Most of them needed about 3 days of getting used to this idea of eating off of a list, using the containers for the portions, etc. Honestly, it's the same way with any program whether it's a Beachbody Program or not. Making a switch to a new habit (especially something as big as your nutrition) can daunting at first.
So, TIP #1: Start incorporating the containers and the ideas from the meal plan right away, even before you officially start your program or the challenge group. After a few days it doesn't take much thought and you're on your way.
The next thing that surprised me personally (mostly because of the way it is marketed) is "If it fits in the container, you can eat it". And yes, if it fits in the container you can eat but i have some bad news... No, you can't go stuffing fried chicken, oreos, and Breyers Ice Cream in them! You do have to stick some food lists filled with real, unprocessed foods.
I was just talking with a couple that went through the 21 Day Fix, Jennifer and Mike. Jennifer has been active regularly doing Zumba and Insanity, and Mike is pretty new to fitness (at least concentrated fitness---he bikes regularly in the summer). Both of them had a goal to lose about 15 lbs. and Jennifer lost just a hair under 10 lbs and Mike lost 15 lbs! And Mike only did about a quarter of the workouts (because he's new to fitness and working out was quite a change!) It just shows you JUST how important Nutrition is to hitting your goals!
We also had Chris Bolen who got very close to her goal weight doing my Live Insanity classes but still wanted to lose about 15 lbs. Combining the 21 Day Fix with the doing the 3 Day Quick Fix, she lost 10 lbs plus 3 lbs alone those last 3 days. And she said doing the 3 Day Quick Fix (which, looking at the meal plan looks a little daunting, turns out to be A LOT of food, so no worries!) She came into my Insanity class and said she was stuffed! Lol... which make for a rough workout ;)
